Successful technologies today seldom come about due to a grand “Eureka” event. Rather, they come from lots of people all having little Eurekas and little “damn, I was sure that would work” moments. -Clark Lindsey
Probably a winch, but I don’t know anything about the video besides what you see there, and another video where a roughly similar vehicle flies with an engine.
Some Dutch company is developing a winch with polyethylene (spectra / dyneema) wire that allow winching really high, say 1 km instead of 300-600 m.
Mike Sandlin has a good info site on “air chairs”, or slow cheap build-it-yourself gliders, he has designed and built quite a few: http://home.att.net/~m–sandlin/bug.htm
Nice landing.
Kind of a sled ride- a winch or auto tow launch?
