Have a good 2011!

Greetings from wintry Helsinki!

The view from my kitchen window

It’s the second snow-laden winter in a row. It’s manageable as we have the equipment and attitude for it. That also means it costs a lot as most of the snow needs to be plowed away and transported to snow dumping grounds. Some truck drivers are doing very well right now…

Some small snow loaders stored for the night at the Kannelmäki mall, Helsinki

Like most modern societal questions, it’s not about what is technically possible, it’s about how resources are allocated. (Of course, even if you allocate a lot of resources to a job, it can still be messed up, it’s rather often the first question in a row of ANDs.)
